Don't you agree that it takes a conversation with a friend you haven't seen for years to really give you a sense of how things have changed with you --on a personal level? Because, as we know, so much can happen within a year. In the year 2008, we witnessed a change in diversity acceptance, we saw the nation descend into recession, and we watched JTimberlake shake his ass as a Single Lady. Not only did all our surroundings change, but we did too.
This one conversation makes you second guess yourself, thinking am I really like that? When it really should have been I was really like that? Awareness of self-change really gives you the ability to take a step back and see the appalling immaturity within yourself. Immaturity that was once in yourself, at least. But that's just all a part of growth. You continue to put yourself in past situations thinking you could have done this or that better. Yeh mate....all in the game of learning.
